Gloria Jean Theiss, born February 21, 1950, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and the memories of a life beautifully lived. Gloria was a devoted mother, sister, teacher, and friend whose warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A proud graduate of Klein High School, Gloria graduated in 1968 before continuing her education at Sam Houston State University, where she earned her Master's Degree in English in 1970. Her love of literature, learning, and language became the foundation for a lifelong career dedicated to teaching and helping children succeed.

Teaching was not simply Gloria's profession; it was her calling. She dedicated countless years to shaping young minds at Haude Elementary School and through the Sylvan Learning centers, where she inspired generations of students with patience, encouragement, and unwavering care. Her classroom was a place where children felt seen, supported, and capable of success.

Gloria found joy in life's simple pleasures and cherished traditions. She loved spending time at the beach, watching massive oil tankers drift along the horizon, and cheering on the Houston Astros. She took pride in her beautiful fish tanks, helping Amy care for them and enjoying their calming presence. The family dog, RJ, was a constant companion and brought her endless happiness over the years.

She also loved relaxing with her favorite television shows, Jeopardy! and Judge Judy. Gloria had a creative spirit and could often be found knitting thoughtful gifts for loved ones or working patiently on her beloved diamond dots projects. She never passed up a chance to enjoy crab legs or a hearty chicken fried steak shared with family and friends.

Above all else, Gloria loved her family deeply. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Krath and husband Joe; her sister, Carolyn Theiss Caskey; and many extended family members, dear friends, former students, and loved ones who will forever treasure her laughter, wisdom, and generous heart.

Gloria's legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered always.
