Gloria Ann Jurischk Griffith, 81, of Spring, Texas passed away Thursday, February 08, 2024. Gloria was born on September 18, 1942 to Alvin and Hilda (Roth) Jurischk. She was baptized at Trinity Klein Lutheran Church on October 04, 1945. In 1948, she lost her father so her family moved to live with Grandma Roth in Houston, Texas. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School from grades one through eight, where she was an outstanding student along with being a member of the choir and a cheerleader her eighth grade year. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church on March 25, 1956. She graduated from John H. Reagan High School in Houston, Texas on May 29, 1960. She was an honor graduate and lettered in volleyball. After graduation, she went to work for Bank of the Southwest and continued working in the banking profession for over 40 years. One of her favorite pastimes along with her brother and sister including their mother would be dancing at Esquire Ballroom and Tin Hall. In 1976, she became a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo committeeman volunteering on the Houston General Go Texan committee. She participated in numerous rodeo events throughout the years with the honor of becoming a Lifetime show and committee members. In 1998, she moved back to Klein, Texas to be with her family. Gloria was a sports fan for many years even up to her death. She loved her Astros, Texans, and Rockets.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, sister Merilyn and step-son Michael Griffith. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Jurischk; stepdaughter-in-law Jessica Bostick and children Justin, Jaden, Jacob and Jordan; and many relatives and friends. Special recognition to the staff at Spring Klein Fresenius Kidney Care for their kindness and care during the past years. In addition, special thanks to her cousin, Janelle Schindewolf Watson, for being her caregiver during the last years of her illness.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a funeral service to immediately begin at 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church 5201 Spring Cypress Rd. Spring, TX 77388, Pastor Ralph Hobratschk will be officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery 6610 Klein Cemetery Rd. Spring, TX 77388.
