Glenn Edward Russell died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on April 30, 2020. He was 79 years of age.

Glenn was born in Breckenridge, Stephens County, Texas on October 3, 1940. He was the oldest of four children born to Lawrence Edward Russell and Thelma LaFern (Thorpe) Russell.

Glenn met Mary Ann Weatherford, the love of his life, while attending high school in Lovington, Lea County, New Mexico in 1958. They were married 60 years ago in Lovington, Texas on October 6, 1959.

In his youth he loved working on cars and drag racing them backwards at 50 mph. He and Mary Ann lived in six states and enjoyed the beauty of each. Glenn and his wife were baptized in 1962 and were active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Glenn could light up a room with his bright and spunky personality. He was always joking around and loved spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. More than anything he wants his dear wife to know just how much he loves her.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and LaFern Russell, his brother, Orval Russell and his youngest sister, Carrol Hamrick.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Russell, five children: Kimary Marble, Asa Ukiah, Sherry Metcalf, Karla Simmonds and Rose Russell, one sister Janie Smart, 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
