Glenn Paul Praesel's Obituary
Glenn Paul Praesel was born at March Air Force Base, Riverside, California on June 26. 1952 to Lorine and Ernest Praesel. Soon after he was born his father received orders to go to serve overseas which his younger years along with his sister and older brother to Germany and Tripoli, Libya Wheelus Air Force. He never saw the states until he was 7 or 8 years old when his father was transferred to James Connally Airbase in Waco, Texas. Glenn was in a major accident on October 8, 1970, and laid in a coma for 30 days before his high school graduation.
Pat was a member of the Circle K fraternity at McLennan Community College and Glenn graduated with an associate's degree from Texas State Technical Institution which is now a four year college. Pat and Glenn met at a party and totally smitten, he married Patricia Weiss on November 24, 1973 at Zion Lutheran Church, McGregor, Texas. Glenn and Pat moved to Houston on December 31, 1978. Glenn and Pat welcomed a baby boy on December 17, 1979. Phillip was the best surprise and the love of their lives.
Glenn worked for Emerson for over 35 years where he was a Gas Analyzer Engineer where he excelled in diagnosing in building and fixing analyzers. At home, he could diagnose car issues and was able to fix them without taking the vehicle to a shop. Glenn like to multitask and read books, watch TV and listen to music at the same time. He enjoyed watching sports especially the Houston Astros. When any Houston sports teams were in a playoff, he would come home from work, take a nap, and stay up until the game ended.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Ernest and Lorine Praesel, and in-law parents, Hazel and Chris Weiss. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Pat Praesel; son, Phillip Praesel; sister, Kay Brown and husband Bob; brothers, Gary Praesel and wife Donna and Ray Praesel and wife Cindy; brother-in-law, James Weiss and wife June; nephews, Greg Brown and wife Kim, Scott Brown, and Nolan Praesel; nieces, Beth Emery and Husband David, Amy Balderrama and husband Steve, Lesley McDaris and husband Lamar, Becky Ivy and husband Heath, Chelsea Weiss, and April Weiss; and multiple great-nieces and great-nephews. Glenn deeply loved his family very much.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:45 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, TX 77065. A funeral service will follow visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.
