Glen L. Cowand, 88, of Spring, Texas, passed away in his sleep on February 22, 2017. Glen is predeceased by parents Jesse A. Cowand and Inga Karlson Cowand, and his brothers and sisters Inga "Helene" Cowand Price, Jesse R. "Bud" Cowand, Norman C. Cowand, Malcolm A. Cowand, Carl C. Cowand, Eulalie H. Cowand Jordy, Ruby E. Cowand, Elliot K. Cowand, and Louis "Hubert" Cowand. Glen was born on March 5, 1928 in Bay St. Louis, MS, and was baptized at Christ Episcopal Church. He attended Bay High School and graduated in 1945. He was a member of the boxing team, lettered in football, and was the King of the May Festival during his senior year at Bay High. He attended Louisiana State University and was an active member of the Kappa Sig fraternity. He was a sergeant in the Army at the end of WWII. On December 12, 1953 he married Joel Black Wolfe at Christ Church Cathedral Chapel in New Orleans, Louisiana, and remained married until her death in 2006. Glen spent many weekends and summers with his immediate and extended family members at a family home in Bay Saint Louis. He was a life-long member of The Boston Club in New Orleans, enjoyed music from the Big Band era, and was an avid duck hunter. He worked in the insurance business in New Orleans until the family moved to the Houston, Texas area in 1974, where he worked in the home building business with his brother Hubert. Glen is survived by his four sons Glen "Lyle" Cowand, Jr. (Carol), Scott K. Cowand (Amy), Craig Wolfe Cowand, and Erik Black Cowand (Wanda), eight grandchildren Jesse K. Cowand, Christopher M. Cowand, Matthew S. Cowand, Liz G. Cowand, Claire C. Labat, Sarah Cowand, Glen E. Cowand, Elizabeth G. Cowand, and five great grandchildren.  A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Chapel.
