Glen Edmund Coulson Jr., also known as "Bug" by his loving family in Virginia, passed away on February 22, 2022 in Houston, TX at the age of 75. Glen was born in Christiansburg, Virginia on January 21, 1947. Glen graduated from Christiansburg High School in 1965. Glen attended Virginia Tech and graduated with a Bachelor of Sociology degree. He entered military service with the Air Force on August 3, 1970 and was deployed to Vietnam where he was an English Language Instructor. He was subsequently stationed at Shepphard AFB, Texas.

Following an honorable discharge on April 30, 1974, Glen began his Air Force Civil Service career on May 19, 1974 at Reese AFB in Texas as the Base Records Manager. He was accepted to Pepperdine University on August 31, 1976 and graduated with a Master of Planning and Public Administration.

Glen had a long and successful civil service career focused on manpower management and operational organization. Following a six-year post at Keesler AFB in Mississippi, Glen was assigned to Randolph AFB in Texas in March of 1981. He played key leadership roles in implementing Air Force-wide reorganizations and executing Air Force Competitive Sourcing Programs.

Glen retired from the Air Force Civil Service following a long and honorable career on August 2, 2002. Post retirement, Glen took his years of governmental service experience and started his own consulting firm, Enspiron Group. He worked with the Defense Logistics Agency and the IRS on process streamlining and cost reduction through private sector contracts. Consulting allowed Glen greater flexibility in early retirement while still providing for his family up until his official retirement from the working world.

Glen was a faithful follower of his beloved Virginia Tech Hokies. One of his favorite stories was how, in high school, he had played against Virginia Tech's future great head football coach, Frank Beamer.

Glen will be remembered for his soft, loving nature and strong devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While a member of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, he led a marriage intimacy group along with his wife, Sonya. He was always passionate about serving others. Even in times of doubt and strife, God was always central to his journey.

Glen was always telling jokes and laughing; his smile was contagious. He had an easy, approachable manner and was a constant champion of both of his daughters. Glen also cared for his wife, throughout her life, with tenderness and devotion. Especially during the final years of her battle with Scleroderma.

Glen is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Sonya Bucklen Coulson, and survived by his children, Jennifer and Dan Eagan of Austin, Texas, and Celia and James McMahon of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren including Kaitlyn Eagan, Braeden McMahon, Conor Eagan, and Aubree McMahon. Also, his loving sister, Linda Bishop. The family received friends of Glen Edmund Coulson Jr. on February 28, 2022 from 5 to 8 pm at Klein Funeral Homes and Memorial on Champion Forest Drive located in Spring, Texas. The memorial service was also held there on March 1, 2022 from 2 to 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent, in memory of Glen Edmund Coulson Jr., to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (lbda.org).
