Obituary

Ginger Morris Tickle of Spring, TX, age 71, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 after an 8-year battle with cancer. She was born on Feb. 8, 1949 in Memphis, TN.

Ginger graduated from Fayette County High School, Somerville, TN in 1967. She served as a cheerleader for both the football and basketball teams and played the clarinet in the high school band. She was a member of the Future Teachers of America.

From 1967-68 Ginger attended Union University in Jackson, TN where she was a member of Chi Omega Upsilon Sorority. In 1968 she transferred to the University of Tennessee at Martin where she graduated in 1971 with a BS Degree in Elementary Education. While attending the University of Tennessee at Martin she was affiliated with the chapter XI Zeta of Chi Omega.

Ginger taught school in Tennessee and Texas for 40 years. She taught in a number of schools as well as the John Wilder Development Center in Somerville, TN.

Ginger attended Somerville Baptist Church throughout her years growing up in Somerville, TN. She was a member of the Champion Forest – North Klein Baptist Church in Spring, TX. She served her church as a Sunday School Teacher and was involved in Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the Angel Paws Dog Therapy Group through her church.

Ginger used her love of dogs by visiting nursing homes, libraries and various organizations with them. She connected children and adults with her dogs as part of her ministry of the Angel Paws Dog Therapy Group. She was also a member of Smiles & Fur Friends Pet Therapy throughout the Houston area.

Ginger enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting and reading. Her love for children led her to teaching through her church as well as after school activities. She enjoyed traveling and seeing many parts of the world. She especially loved visiting the Caribbean, Europe, Greece and the Mediterranean. Ginger loved volunteering and helping others in need of food, clothing or any way she could to help make their lives better.

Ginger was the daughter of the late Roy Turner Morris and the late Blona Bolton Morris. She leaves behind her husband of 40 years William Robert "Bob" Tickle, sons Wesley Barrett Henson of Spring, Texas (Dyane) and Brandon Conrad Tickle of Tomball, TX and granddaughter, Harley Quinn Henson; sister, Cheryl Morris Ramsey of Collierville, TN (Steve) and nephews Preston Ramsey and Phillip Ramsey; her three rescue dogs, Cooper, Chloe and Corky.

Services will be held at Klein Memorial Park – Magnolia – The Woodlands, 14711 F M 1488, Magnolia, TX 77354
