Obituary

Gertrude Hyman Hardamon peacefully went to her eternal resting place and reunited with her husband, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Tomball, TX at the age of 95.

Gertrude was born in Richards, Texas on January 24, 1929, to Vick and Susie Hyman. In later years they moved to Magnolia, Texas where she graduated from Magnolia High School. She went on to meet her loving husband of 70 years, Lonnie, and they resided in Tomball, TX where they raised their family.

Gertrude held various jobs in Tomball working for City Hall, Dr. Norman Graham and Guaranty Bond State Bank. She retired from HL&P at the age of 62 with over 30 years of employment. During that time, her husband Lonnie opened Hardamon Coin and Jewelry in Tomball where she enjoyed helping him with his passion. The store was later sold to what is now Golden Nonsense. Years after retirement she decided to go back to workand spent nearly 20 years with American Air, a family-ownedAC company.

Her family was her true pride and joy that she loved dearly. Gertrude was very close to her sister, Betty Sue. You would always find them together throughout their life and enjoyed raising their families together. She was a devout Catholic and a proud member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Tomball whereshe never missed a mass until she was no longer able to attend. She had a special bond with her great grandchildren Avery and Tegan.

Gertrude is preceded in death by her loving husband Lonnie Leonard Hardamon, Sr.; parents, Vick and Susie Hyman; son, Lonnie Hardamon, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Karla Hardamon.

She is survived by her daughter, La Donna Shaw and husband Ellis; grandson, Jason Shaw and wife Jenni; granddaughter, Stephanie Hardamon and fiancé, Pedro Boyd; granddaughter, Jennifer Divin and husband Ryan; great granddaughter, Avery Divin; great grandson, Tegan Shaw; sister, Betty Sue Sparks; three special nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

A sweet and nurturing woman, but not afraid to speak her mind who was proud of her Polish heritage. Gerturde has left us with a lifetime of wonderful memories that will be cherished. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as she rests in the peace of our Lord's loving arms.
