Geraldine passed away peacefully at Lawrence Street Health Care Center in Tomball, Texas, on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the age of 89. Born March 18, 1934, in New London, Connecticut to the late Russell J. and Dorothy Corser. Gerri's childhood was spent on the grounds of what became the New London airfield in New London County, Connecticut, where her father shuttled local passengers by airplane and her mother helped run the airport office. During high school Gerri also worked in the office, where she would meet her husband, James Nash, who was taking flying lessons from her father while he was stationed in New London during his tenure in the United States Navy aboard the submarine tender, the USS Fulton during the Korean War. Geraldine completed her GED at College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas, after raising their four children.

Geraldine and James shared an admiration for music and were happily married for 46 years until James passed away in 1994.  Geraldine had a quiet yet determined strength, which complimented her engineering husband's demeanor. She was a talented artist and prolific gardener. Gerri passed on her creative artistic talents to her daughters. Her love for restoration and creative talent was evident in her constant rebuilding and refurbishing things, from outdoor gardens, to replacing flooring and completely refurbishing a fire damaged cabin cruiser which the family enjoyed for many years.

Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, and her oldest daughter, Elizabeth Nash Sjoberg. She is survived by her children Jennifer Nash Goolsby (Charles), Roy Corser Nash (Jennifer), and Renee Nash Overton and their families, as well as her grandchildren Emily Herrera, Tori Montez, Chad and Austin Goolsby, and their spouses, nieces, nephews, and their children. The family extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation for the years of service from devoted and loving caregivers at Lawrence Street Health Care.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas.

Our Mom, "Gerri May," battled Alzheimer's for more than 15 years. The disease progressed quickly after she fought and won her second battle with cancer, yet she hung on for 12 more years. This disease took our peaceful, creative, artistic, witty mother, grandma and great grandma from all of us and robbed her of the joyful years she so desperately wanted with her grands and great grandchildren. We find peace in knowing that she is finally free from bondage, suffering, and pain, and that where she is now, she would not trade places with any of us! We love you Mom!
