Georgia Ann Perriraz was born in Houston on March 19, 1936. She passed away on Thursday September 9, 2021 in Houston. Georgia graduated from Aldine High School, class of 1954, and worked for Phillips 66 for 36 years before retiring.
Georgia was a mother, grandmother, and aunt. She loved her grandchildren and made each feel unique and special. Georgia became the matriarch of her large family after her mother's passing, always knowing where everyone was located and what they were doing. She volunteered at Northwest and Southwest Memorial Hospitals after retiring and was known as, "The Popcorn Lady." Georgia loved nature and had a green thumb which her yard always reflected.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Emil and Mary Anna Knigge Perriraz, sister Gladys Evans, brother and sister in-law Wilbert and Helen Dyess, and sister Pauline M. Olney. She is survived by her brother and sister in-law Gene Allen and Jackie Perriraz, brother and sister in-law Ronnie and Shirley Perriraz, her son, James Robert Long, Jr. and daughter in-law, Julia W. Long. Georgia is also survived by her two grandchildren, James Reed Long and Helen Grace Long, as well as eighteen nieces and nephews.
For those wishing to do so, the family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the March of Dimes, https://www.marchofdimes.org/
The family also request that anyone attending her service wear a face mask.
