George Joesph Mueck

August 26, 1930 – September 23, 2022

George Joseph Mueck was born on August 26, 1930 at Travis, Texas in Falls County. His parents were Steve A. Mueck and Frances Morbitzer. He was the youngest of ten children. The brothers and sisters were Herman Mueck, Martha Burkeen, Bertha House, Joe Mueck, Anna Williams and Otto Mueck (twins), Matilda Senkel, Albert Mueck, and Steve Mueck. He was preceded in death by all except Steve Mueck.

George attended the Salem school and then the catholic school at St. Monica in Cameron, Texas until the eighth grade. He then attended C. H. Yoe High School in Cameron. After graduation in 1948, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. Upon honorable discharge in 1952, George was hired by the RCA Service Company in Dallas, Texas. On January 9, 1954, he married Lydia "Lucille" Mueck in Cameron, Texas. They lived in Dallas for about 15 years and began raising their family. George and Lucille were married for 64 years before her death on October 6, 2018.

In 1965, he was an RCA service manager in Dallas, Texas. George and family moved to Texas City, Texas in 1969 to be the RCA branch manager in Galveston, Texas. In May 1974, he was transferred to Sugar Land, Texas, to be branch manager of the South Houston RCA branch. He took an early retirement in 1987 after RCA was acquired by GE. From 1987 – 1993 George worked as a security guard at Sugar Creek subdivision in Sugar Land. He had been retired since that time.

George and Lucille moved to Sealy (Frydek), Texas in 1998. In 2014, they moved to The Woodlands, Texas.

George passed on Friday, September 23, 2022. He is survived by his three children, Michael G. Mueck (spouse, Paula), Lynda M. Chaney (husband, Allen), Gary P. Mueck (wife, Cynthia De Vos). Seven grandchildren, Erin Mueck, Garrett Mueck (wife, Chelsea), Natalie Chaney, Will Chaney (wife, Courtney), Samuel Mueck, Benjamin Mueck, and Joshua Mueck. He has four great-grandchildren, Anson and Knox Weiershausen, Parker Chaney, and Carter Clinton.
