Obituary

George Mack "Mickey" Upchurch, 75, joined Jesus in Heaven, on January 20, 2020 at his home in Montgomery ending his 6 year struggle with Alzheimer's. Mickey is preceded in death by his parents Mack and Lessie and brother Jimmy.

He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Stacey (Fudge) Upchurch; his daughters Natalie Upchurch; Valerie Marriner and husband Joel; Mickelle Johnson and husband Tim. Along with his precious grandchildren Miranda Dillon, Jake and Emily Greene, Magen, Addyson, Lynlee and Jase Johnson. Mickey is also survived by his sister Lisa Bodway and husband Brad; sister in law Carol (Gates) Upchurch and many nieces and nephews and greats.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kim Fudge for all the love, support, care and kindness she gave to Mickey during these past few difficult years. Kim, we love you dearly for your unconditional love to Mickey.

Born in Huntsville, Texas, the oldest son of Mack and Lessie (Lee) Upchurch; Mickey lived most of his life in Tomball, Texas. After graduating from Tomball High School in 1962, he attended Baylor University.

After starting his career at Superior Oil, Mickey went on to become a Landman at Tenneco Oil Company. For the remaining 25 years of his career, he had his own consulting firm, Champion Management and became one of the most sought after Landmen in the Oil & Gas Industry; contracting out to Anadarko, BP Petroleum and more.

As an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, and golfing; Mickey was an outstanding water skier. He enjoyed planning vacations and traveling with his family.

Mickey will be missed by all who loved him here on Earth but we rest assured we will see him again.

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4
