George Carlton Merkt, age 70, was the eldest of five children born to the late Raymond & Jean (Loth) Merkt Supe, on February 15,1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
A long-term resident of Spring, Texas, George recently retired from Integra Life Sciences, where he served as Regional Sales Manager. He loved his occupation. George's many experiences in the Operating Room, training medical teams, highlighted his dedication to the life-saving industry of medical technology. George also loved shooting, his Corvette, the Eagles, and travelling. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, and sons Greg (Karen Wright), Brian (Rachel Hughes), and David. His three grandchildren brought him the most joy as his proudest legacy: Alyssa (15), Tyler (13), and Aubrey (7). George has four brothers, whose families all live in the Greater Cincinnati area. He is also survived by Norm Supe, his caring step-dad, who raised and loved his five boys whole-heartedly. Also, George's numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends will forever remember him.
George and Sharon would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this February, which stands as a testimony to their loving commitment.
George and Sharon moved to Spring, Texas, in 1979, and they considered Texas their home. As his family grew and his career flourished, George's big, Texas-sized heart continued to include his family and friends from Cincy, which was always his favorite place to visit. Friends in Cincinnati and Texas knew him as a kind, hard-working person. He was the nicest man and always had time to listen to others.
Time is the only solution to sadness: the memories stay clear.
