George B. Lyle Jr., beloved husband of Betty, was born on December 22, 1925. He enlisted in October of 1943 in the Navy where he served as Electrician's Mate (EM3c) on the USS Weber (DE-675) in WWII and the USS Frybarger (DE-705) during the Korean conflict. His ship, the USS Weber, was the first into Nagasaki along with the USS Wichita and the hospital ship USS Haven. He mastered electrical and mechanical work yet he always remained true to his first love of woodworking.

In 1953, George married the love of his life, Betty (Satala) Lyle, and they were inseparable for 67+ years. George and Betty were long-time residents of Cleveland Ohio where they raised five children and shared their love of gardening. George worked as a plant manager in various factories in the Cleveland area before he left to pursue his own business providing computer automation solutions to auto dealerships, banks and insurance companies.

Upon his retirement, George and Betty moved to Texas and eventually settled on their ranch where they designed and built their own home. They continued to pursue their love of rural life, gardening, raising cows, sheep, chicken and other animals.

George is survived by his loving wife Betty, five children: Doris, Jim (Roberta), Nancy, Cathy (Jeff) Perry and Diane. Grandchildren Andrew (Kristin) Lyle, Mark (Mei) Lyle , Jordan Perry and Madison Perry, and his great-granddaughter Clara Lyle.
