George Edward Graham, age 81, passed into the loving arms of our Lord on December 14, 2017, after losing a battle with lung cancer.  George was born on April 3, 1936, in Corsicana, Texas, of parents George Edward Graham II and Jesse Berry Graham.  He spent his formative years growing up in Houston's Heights and attended Reagan High School.  As a teenager, he developed a love of cars, rebuilding classic hotrods and racing them down the streets of Houston in the 1950's, much to the consternation of local law officers.  But the young man's hotrod days drew to a close when in 1956 he met and married Martha Adele Slominski, the love of his life and partner for 61 years. He turned his love of cars into a career as a transmission specialist for General Motors.  Not only did George become an excellent mechanic, but he was capable of engineering a solution to almost any problem.  He carried himself with a rare combination of confidence and humility, always ready with a handshake and smile.  George and Martha shared a love of gardening and bird-watching.  George was extremely proud of his family.  He is survived by his wife Martha, son Stephen and his wife, Joy, daughter Susan Graham Thompson and her husband, John, and son David.  In addition, he leaves behind granddaughters Christy Trammel, Jordan Miller, Heather Graham, Raven Miller and Sabrina Drude, great-grandchildren Kyleigh Graham and Braden, Ethan and Avery Trammel, and Lucy, a Spaniel mix, who as a stray puppy picked him as her human daddy. The family held an intimate memorial service in George's honor shortly following his death.  He requested that remembrances be made in his name to The Salvation Army.
