Obituary

On Saturday, August 15, 2020, George Cecil Colston - loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather – went to be with the Lord at the age of 76.

Cecil was born on September 1, 1943 in Conroe, TX to George Lee and Mary Virginia (Boyd) Colston. He was a longshoreman for over 30 years in Houston. On November 24, 1979, he married Cecilia Ann Brewer. They raised one son, Timothy, and one daughter, Chrisandrea.

Cecil had a passion for reading. He also loved his family and enjoyed theological discussions. He was an extraordinary man whose faith was only surpassed by his generous heart and spirit. His appetite for reading brought him to amass a large collection of books on subjects ranging from religion, history, philosophy to his favorite fantasy collection. He was known for his laughter, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate love for his family.

Cecil was preceded in death by his father, George, his mother, Mary and his sister Barbara Brunton. He is survived by his wife Cecilia, his two children, Timothy and Chrisandrea, his grandchildren Brenden and Ashley, many great grandchildren, his sister Mary Lee, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

"Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you Myself, that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:1-3

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Decker Prairie Cemetery, Magnolia, TX at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
