Obituary

Genevieve White Dooley passed peacefully and with grace on Saturday, January 13th, 2017 in Montgomery, Texas at the age of 93. She was born on December 13th, 1924, in Burkburnett, Texas. Genevieve was the beloved wife of the late James Ross Dooley. Loved ones who will miss Genevieve until they meet again are her loving children Charles Michael Dooley and wife Stephanie Dooley of Montgomery, Texas, and Dennis Wayne Dooley and wife Belinda Dooley of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Debbie Klement and her husband Philip of Flower Mound, Texas, Kathy Acreman of Willis, Texas, David Dooley and wife Rachael of Houston, Stacey Best and husband Chris of Houston, Christopher Dooley and Danielle Dooley of Montgomery; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister, Virginia Heard of Shreveport, Louisiana, and nephews Ronald Heard and wife Leah of California, and Charles Webb of Maryland.

Genevieve grew up in DeKalb, Texas. After marrying, she and Ross lived in Beaumont, Texas and then settled in Lake Charles, Louisiana to raise their family. In the late 1960's, they moved to Houston. They lived in Forest Hills, Conroe, for many years and in 1994 built a home in April Sound, Montgomery. Genevieve was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived with a deep love for her family. She treasured Ross, the love of her life, and was extremely proud of their blissful 65 years of marriage. A consummate homemaker, Genevieve enjoyed cooking for her family, traveling and decorating. Her greatest joy was celebrating special occasions with family, neighbors and friends. She was joyful about living a full, meaningful life. She leaves us rich in memories.

We have the deepest gratitude for the precious friends, and staff at Elmcroft who have comforted and cared for Genevieve. The family asks that you spend time with your loved ones and raise a toast to enduring relationships, lifelong and beyond, knowing that is what Genevieve would wish.

A memorial service celebrating Genevieve's life will be held at Klein Funeral Home, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, Texas, on Saturday January 20th, 2018. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., with Interment to follow.

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
