Gayle "Gigi" Shannan-Holmes passed away on October 9th, 2021 at the age of 56 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Gayle was a caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and most recently grandmother. She was born on January 16th, 1965 in Austin, TX to Dr. George and Bertille Shannan. She attended Baylor University and Oral Roberts University. After a few years in college, she met her husband Richard Holmes and together they had two children - Haley and Brittany.

Gigi was a very active individual. She was an avid tennis player at Raveneaux Country Club for over 20 years. She was also a pet sitter and walked many miles accompanied by her favorite animal companions. Her passion and love for animals was shared through her pet sitting services throughout the community. When she wasn't busy working, she enjoyed being outside in the sun whether it be on the beach, by the pool, or just on a restaurant patio with family and friends.

Gayle was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Holmes. She is survived by her daughters, Haley Owings and husband Chad, and Brittany Holmes; granddaughter, Cora Owings; father, Dr. George Shannan and mother Bertille Shannan; brother, Dr. Mark Shannan and wife Gabrielle; and sister, Pastor Laura Koke and husband Pastor Robert.
