Gary Harrison Smith

Gary Harrison Smith, went to be with his Lord July 21, 2017. He was born July 2, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Russell Smith and Leota Harrison Smith.  He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Charles Russell Smith.

Gary put in a full career as a Project Manager for Minute Maid / Coca Cola. After his retirement he taught school for 6 years, 3 years at Trinity Christian Academy and 3 years as a Home School Teacher.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret "Marge" Smith; sons, Michael Charles Smith (Jennifer), Christopher Russell Smith (Carolee) and Christopher Michael Martinez (Katie); daughter, Tracy Leigh Smith Fort (Charles); grandchildren, Nathan (Ashley), Oliver (Candace), Carter and Joshua Smith; Tristan Bonner; Aurora Smith; Lela and Sophia Torres, and Maxamillion Martinez; great grandchildren, Natalie, June, and Nolan Smith; brother, Steve (Linda) Smith; brother-in-law, Richard Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews .

Thank you to Ashley and Rebecca from "Right At Home" for their care of Gary his last few weeks at home. Also, a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at Silverado Senior Living Cypresswood Memory Care for their wonderful care of Gary during his last two months and for their special care to be sure he had a peaceful passing.  And thank you to hospice for their exceptional care in his last days.  The family really appreciated everything you did for him.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM, Klein Funeral Chapel, Cypress, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX  77065, Pastor Nate Anderson of The Summit Church officiating.
