Gary Ronald Hare, 91, was received into the hands of the Lord on January 29, 2026 where he joined his wife of 63 years, Mary Ann. Gary was born September 6, 1934 to Victoria (Correll) and James Hare in North Manchester, Indiana. He was surrounded by 4 loving sisters: Joan, Janet (dec), Becky, and Lois(dec), Gary was a loving father to his daughter Karen Greenberg and husband Jeff (Texas) and son Mark (Michigan).  He was an adoring grandfather and friend to 3 grandchildren: Alex James Hare (Michigan), Matt Gamble(Texas) and Kyle Gamble(Kansas). Gary's childhood stories were filled with boyish adventures such as swimming in local ponds, building tree forts and sleeping outside in them, and sadly losing his prize BB gun in the creek near his house. After high school, Gary graduated from International Business College in Fort Wayne, IN. In 1955 Gary joined the Army and served for 2 years at Fort Leonard in Montana. He then became employed at the Ohio Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio, where he met the love of his life Mary Ann Warnecke. They were married August 30, 1958 and soon blessed with 2 children Karen and Mark. While in Findlay, Gary enjoyed golfing, bowling, and was a member of the Elks and Knights of Columbus. Gary and Mary Ann enjoyed playing Bridge in the Marathon league and Euchre and Solo with family. Vacationing with the family to Indiana and Florida and a wonderful 3 week long trip out West were memorable also! Once the children had graduated college, Gary was transferred to Houston with the Purchasing Department of Marathon Oil in 1983. Gary and Mary Ann retired shortly thereafter, each having 30-year successful careers. Gary continued golfing, bowling, and added a new hobby of assembling and painting wooden ducks. The 1990s brought the joyful addition of 3 grandchildren and kept the Hares busy in various ways, Gary was always an easygoing guy who never met a stranger. He would strike up conversations with strangers like they were old friends. He was always quick with humor and a joke, bringing laughter to those around him. In 2021 Mary Ann passed after several years of suffering from Alzheimer's. Shortly after, Gary became very ill, and we were afraid we would lose him, but with the assistance of special caregivers such as Tammy, Justin, and Carly, he recovered 100%! Sadly, Carly passed shortly after Mr. Gary's 91st birthday, and she is dearly missed. As the years passed, Gary also struggled with Alzheimer's but always kept his sense of humor. We trust God's promises and know Gary is in heaven with his wife, family, and friends, singing along with Frank Sinatra.
