It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Lee Hamilton of Tomball, Texas on January 9, 2025 at the age of 76. Gary battled Frontotemporal Dementia for several years but was very well cared for at home by Sunset Hospice and his wife, Teresa.

Born on March 29, 1948 in Breckenridge Texas to Tommy Lee and Jo Ellen Hamilton, Gary was the oldest of 3 brothers - Larry Hamilton (spouse, Jan) & Mike Hamilton (spouse, Melinda).

Growing up in an oil business family meant they would move several times throughout Texas and Louisiana. He graduated from high school in Lafayette and started his college career at The University of Southwestern Louisiana.  In between his college years Gary enlisted in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. He then continued his education and graduated from The University of Houston. There he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.  He spent his career working throughout the Houston area for ConocoPhillips, Baker Electronics, Southwest Electronics, BMC and Pioneer Standard Electronics.

In his spare time, Gary was actively involved serving in his church and community, supporting his family and playing golf. He spent time as an active member of First Baptist Church of Missouri City, Quail Valley Baptist Church and was most recently a member of First Baptist Church of Houston. He and his family were blessed with numerous special friends throughout the community.

Gary is survived by his wife of 51 years, Teresa, and their 3 daughters, Lindsey Williams (spouse Matt and children Kaylee, Braden and Shelby),Melissa Draper (spouse Chris and children Bryce and Brody) and Hillary Hamilton (children Gavin and Bailey), his 2 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.  Gary was so proud of his family and it was very important to him that he lived out Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 1 from 2:00-4:00 at The Lodge, the community center in the Willowcreek Ranch community which is located off of Telge in Tomball.
