Gail Jean Witte
Gail Jean Witte, 70 was born in Conroe, Texas on June 19, 1948 and passed away at her home on June 23, 2018 in Montgomery, Texas.
Although she contracted polio at the age of 3 her determination and strength allowed her to achieve excellence in all her life endeavors.
She graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1966 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She then earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree cum laude from the University of Houston in 1970. She was a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Delta Pi.
Gail worked in the petro chemical industry where she met her loving husband, Bill. They resided at Champions where he introduced her to golf. Her passion of the game led to many lifelong friendships and achievements which included 3 holes in one on the Champions Golf course. She was actively involved in the Champions Women's Golf Association and served as President of the Executive Committee.
Gail enjoyed hunting and fishing with her family and friends at her 4R Ranch in Flynn, Texas. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, father Jerry Birdwell, and brother Chuck Birdwell. She is survived by her mother Dema Lou Birdwell, Sister Janet Anderson and husband John, nephews Chris and Nathan Hessong, niece Dee Long, great nephews Shiloh, Tyler, Dylan, and great niece Rhonya. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and a special thanks to her step daughters Krista Wall and Lisa Gourley for their loving support.
Visitation is 10 AM Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Klein Funeral Home. Funeral service follows at 11 AM in the Chapel. Interment is 1:00 PM Thursday, June 28th at the Houston National Cemetery. Reception will be held at Champions Golf Club following the funeral service.
