Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gail Vogt Skelton, aged 87, who departed this life on November 29, 2025, in Houston, Texas.

Born on October 18, 1938, in Fort Worth, Texas, Gail was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, excited soon-to-be great-grandmother, and most importantly, a child of God. Her life was a testament to grace, strength, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Gail touched countless lives with her warmth, wisdom, and generosity. She lived each day with purpose and love.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Roland Lynn Skelton; her parents, Adolf and Lucy Vogt; brother, Thomas Vogt; and son-in-law, Jeffery Symank.

She is survived by her son Roland Lynn Skelton, Jr. and his wife Sandy Skelton; daughter Kathryn Symank; son Mark Skelton; grandson Cade Skelton and his wife Savannah, along with their daughter on the way; sisters Sharron McDaniel and Glenda Vogt; Lynn and Sandy's children: Steve Schaefer and Monica Saiz, Shawna and Josh Zellers, and Scott Schaefer and Ashley Ortiz; and Kathryn stepchildren: Cara and Michael Parker, Christen and Andy Huntley, and Amanda and Elvin Lara; and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.  All of whom she loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home, located at 16131 Champion Forest Dr, Spring, TX 77379. All who knew and loved Gail are welcome to attend and celebrate her remarkable life. There will be a viewing prior from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.

The Brookwood Community , a nonprofit dedicated to supporting adults with disabilities through meaningful work and community
Church of Christ in Champions , where Gail's faith and fellowship were deeply rooted
