Gail Yvonne (Williams) Gough, aka GG, passed away on Saturday August 27 ^th in Houston, TX. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Alfred C. Williams and Audie Williams, her brothers Victor M. Williams, Kenneth Guy Williams, and by her husband Jim Gough Sr. She is survived by her 2 sons, David Gough and wife Kristine, Jim Gough Jr. and spouse Dawnell Shadden, and grandchildren, Jonathon Gough, Madison Gough, Megan (Ron) Mattingly, Colton (Abby) Shadden, and 6 great grandchildren.

GG was born in Wellington, TX on January 23 ^rd , 1937.  After graduating Spur high school, she attended TCU on a music scholarship transferring to the University of Texas where she graduated in 1960 with a BA in Music Education.  A classically trained pianist with perfect pitch, she performed on the Cactus Prior show while living in Austin. Gail settled down with James R Gough (Jim Sr.) on January 28 ^th of 1961 shortly after Jim had heard her perform and stated to his mother, "I'm gonna marry that girl!" They lived in Dallas, Houston, Needville, and Liberty Hill. After Jim Sr. passed, GG made Georgetown, TX her home.

Gail taught choir and band for several school districts throughout the state. Her accomplishments included the first sweepstakes band award at Needville Junior High in the early 80s and heading a music Magnet program in Houston. As a performer she played with Kenny Rodgers, the Texas Playboys II, The Gail Gough Trio and more. She played organ, piano, and directed choir in numerous churches through the years. In 2009, she was honored to sing with an international choir in the Vatican City for Pope Benedict XVI.  As an avid genealogist, she researched, wrote, and published two books, one on each side of her family.  She was a member of DAR, DRT, UDC, and USD 1812.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30pm, Sunday, September 25 ^th at St. Johns Methodist Church, 311 University Ave., Georgetown, TX 78626.
