Frederick McGinley Allen, Jr., 76, of Magnolia, passed away January 23, 2019.  He was born August 3, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Frederick Allen, Sr. and Maude David Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Junko Allen; son, Michael Allen; daughter, Jacqueline Allen; and grandson, Hunter Cassius Burkey.

Fred graduated from High School May 1960 in Opelousas, LA.  After high school he enlisted in the US Navy July 7, 1960 to Aug 2, 1963 and reserves from Aug 2, 1963 to Jul 6, 1966 in Opelousas, LA.  He started working for Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co. in Houston, TX Aug. 20, 1972 as an Engineer/Authorized Inspector.  Hartford then transferred Fred to Japan where he met his future wife, Junko Takagi.  Fred and Junko got married on Sep 7, 1978 and moved back to Baton Rouge, LA.  They moved to Japan, and lived there from 1981 to 1987.  On November 8, 1982 they celebrated the birth of their 1st child, Michael Allen in Urawa, Japan.  Then on July 18, 1984 the celebrated the birth of their 2nd child, Jacqueline Junko Allen on 7/18/84 in Urawa, Japan.  In 1987 they purchased their first home in Magnolia with their 2 children.  Fred continued travelling all over the world for Hartford, from Orange, TX to Belize and Venezuela.  They sold their house in 1994 and purchased some property where they built their home.  Jan 31, 2008, Fred retires from Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co. and immediately starts a new job at Wagner as a QC Manager and was there until April, 15 2016.  In 2015 he suffered from a heart attack and stroke and then passed away on Jan 23, 2019 in the home he built.

In his free time, he had the following hobbies: Working in the yard, he loved music, jazz, rock, big fan of the Saints and LSU, he loved to cook and growing vegetables, he loved crossword puzzles and loved to fish.
