Frederick James Cytacki was born on November 27,1950 in South Bend, Indiana. He was the beloved son of the late Edmund Stanley and Mary Julia Cytacki.
Fred passed away, age 74 on August 18, 2025 at his home in Pinehurst, Texas.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Michelle Cytacki, and his daughter, Allison Cytacki Franz and her husband, John. He was preceded by his daughter, Jill Catherine Cytacki in October 2010. He was a proud grandfather to Emily, David and Mary Franz. His granddaughter, Catherine Anne Franz preceded him in 2012. Fred is also survived by his brother, Edmund Cytacki, and his wife, Donna, his sister, Judy Dickens, and her husband, Gary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred grew up in South Bend, Indiana where he graduated from Saint Joseph's High School. He then graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering in 1973. After graduating, Fred came down to Texas to work at Texas Instruments in Stafford, Texas. After years of employment with startup companies, Fred settled in Houston and worked for Compaq and Hewlett Packard for 32 years.
Fred was an active and dedicated member of Saint Matthias Catholic Church, where he served on the Parish Council for many years and volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus and an active member of the Men's club. He was instrumental in obtaining relics of St. Matthias, St. Maria Goretti, and St. Justin for the dedication of Saint Matthias Catholic Church with Fr. Carlos Martins.
In retirement, Fred enjoyed working in his yard, often accompanied by his two dogs. Fred will be missed as a positive, cheerful uplifting friend and family member.
