Obituary

Fred graduated from Texas City High School in 1970 where he was active in FFA serving as President, showing projects at both Galveston County Fair and Houston Livestock Show, and earned the Lone Star Farmer degree. He attended the National Auction Institute in 1970 to become an auctioneer. He graduated from Blinn College in 1972 and from SHSU in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Later, in 1981, he received a Master of Arts degree in Ag from SHSU.

Fred was a dedicated Ag teacher and taught at Orangefield High School, McCollough (The Woodlands) High School, Cypress Creek High School, and Klein Oak High School. He truly loved supervising the FFA projects, especially the pigs!

In 2005, after 30 years of teaching, he retired but continued to help FFA members with their projects - giving advice he hoped they would follow. He was a 25-year member of the Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas. He was an active member in Tomball FFA Booster Club and looked forward to helping with the pig show at the Tomball Project Show each year.

Fred was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as an elder and usher. He enjoyed being a hunter safety instructor and loved hunting and fishing. He was a true Texas Longhorn fan, but also enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros, spending many hours watching and taking sports with anyone who would listen. He was pure country, loving the cowboy way with a BIG gift for gab!

We are thankful for the memories and touching our lives in many ways.
