Fred Robert McCauley Jr.
September 18, 1931 – October 11, 2021
Fred Robert McCauley Jr., 90, of Tomball, TX, passed away on October 11, 2021.
Fred was born in Mexia, TX on September 18, 1931. He graduated from Aldine High School, where he played varsity football and ran track.
Fred was married to the love of his life, LaJoyce White, on March 5, 1950; they were married for 71 years.
Fred was an Engineman Second Class in the US Navy and stationed at Grotton, CT. He worked for McCauley Lumber Co., was the owner of McCauley Lumber Tomball, Inc, and was a Rancher. Fred enjoyed watching football, reading history books, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a member of the NRA and donated to various children's charities.
Fred was the perfect husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a very generous, loving, and kind-hearted man.
Fred is survived by his wife, Joyce, his children Robin Clyde and former husband, David, Robert Bruce McCauley and former wife, Cynthia, and his grandchildren, Ryan Clyde and wife, Tiffany, Sharla Jahnke and husband, Gregory, Reed Clyde, Lauren Clyde and fiancé, Austin Foreman, and Hunter McCauley. He is also survived by his nine great-grandchildren, Preston Clyde, Carsen Thor, Logan Jahnke, Eva Thor, Lacy Jahnke, Caden Jahnke, Karsyn McCauley, Forrest Chelakis III, and Caden Foreman, as well as other family and friends.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Robert McCauley Sr. and Minnie R. Leamons, siblings Mary Katherine, Lois, and Curtis McCauley, and grand-daughter Kassidy McCauley.
The memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Klein Funeral Home-Tomball.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to Memorial Donations, Texas Children's Hospital, Office of Philanthropy, Suite 5214, PO Box 300630 Houston, TX 77230-0630.
