Francis Edgar Martin passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on March 24, 2023 at the age of 92.

Francis was born in San Angelo, Texas, on April 4, 1930 to the late Edgar Martin and Jewel Martin (nee Clayton) and grew up living in the country in and around Runnels County, Texas. Francis married the love of his life, Peggy Blake Rush of Talpa, Texas, on December 26, 1950. In 1953, they moved to Midland, Texas, where they raised their family of three children, Richard, Rand and Stephanie. During their 59-year marriage, they resided primarily in Midland, where Francis pursued a career in the oil industry, and the family were active participants in the community at Covenant Presbyterian Church. In 2005, Francis and Peggy moved to Houston to be close to their daughter, Stephanie, and grandson,Tucker.

Above all, Francis was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was kind and funny and spent the second half of his life loving on everyone he encountered in his daily life. He was quite artistic – he loved to play the piano, write poems, draw and above all take photographs.

Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, and son Rand. He is survived by his son Richard, daughter, Stephanie and grandson, Tucker. He was loved and will be missed by so many more. Services will be at Klein Funeral Home- Champions Forest, 2 pm Thursday, March 30 with viewing at 1 pm. Graveside service and burial will be in Talpa, Texas on Monday, April 3rd at 11 am.
