Francesco (Frank) Carra was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  Born in the small Italian town of Samo, Reggio Calabria, in 1934, he arrived in America from Italy in 1959 on January 6 ^th . From that day on, he built a faith filled legacy that included love of family, love of friends and a strong passion for showcasing his Italian culture which often meant he would prepare home cooked meals with large gatherings around the kitchen table.  He loved hunting and when he lived in NY looked forward to hunting season every November so he and his friends could enjoy the outdoors together.

Frank believed that his greatest achievement was his family and the joy that they brought him. He was most proud that he passed down, to his grandchildren, his love for cooking and the game of soccer.  It gave him such pleasure to attend his grandchildren's soccer matches and to hear of their successes in scoring (or saving) games.

Nonno, as he was called by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved to teach everyone he met about what it meant to be Italian. That his children and grandchildren studied Italian brought him even greater joy.  They were the center of his universe and he was thrilled to participate at all their milestones:  be it a sporting event/tournament, music recital, college graduation or wedding.

He was the patriarch of his family both here in America and in Italy.  His family in Italy, which include a multitude of nieces and nephews, looked to him as a father figure.  His visits to Italy to see them were joyous events that brought everyone together.

In addition to his loving wife of 62 years Millie, Frank leaves behind his 3 children, Elena Cataldo, Elio Carra & Robert Carra and their spouses, Bob Cataldo, Maria Carra and Kasey Carra. He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren, Marc Cataldo, Sabrina Cataldo, Giuliana (Carra) Fisher and her husband John Fisher, Gina Carra, Jessica Carra, Johnny Alesso and Jenna Alesso and two great-grandchildren, Siena and Luke Fisher.  In Italy, he was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Giovanni, his sister Caterina and leaves behind his sister Francesca and her husband Antonio, his sister Elena  and her husband Giuseppe and many nephews and nieces.  His wonderful legacy is that of family.
