Ella Frances Hatton, native Houston resident, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2020 (Norris birthday). She was loved and cherished by many loving friends and family. Frances was born April 29, 1932 in Houston Texas to Arthur Perry and Fannie Bell (Hall) Hughes. She was one of four children. She was preceded in death by her brothers Marvin Austin Hughes (a U. S. Marine who perished on the U.S.S. Arizona on December 7, 1941) and Charles A. Hughes. These are the ones who continue to carry on her legacy, including her sister Jeanine Blankenship, her eldest son Marvin and wife Nancy Herdejurgen Hatton of Houston, Texas; son James Hatton and wife Michele Augustine Hatton of Nacogdoches, Texas; son Perry Hatton and wife Tamara Moody Hatton of Farmers Branch, Texas; grandchildren and great grandchildren include Rachel Hatton Paulding and husband, John and sons Josiah, Caleb, Noah and daughter Abigail of Conroe, Texas; Craig Hatton and wife Mary Guzman Hatton of Kyle, Texas; Rebekah Hatton Wiggins and husband Greg, daughter, Carlee and son Zachary of The Woodlands, Texas; Krystal Hatton Nicholas and husband, Karl and sons Logan, Ryder and Wesley of Cypress, Texas; Luke Hatton and wife Laurie Braunsdorf Hatton and son Blake of Fulshear, Texas; Matt Hatton and wife Emily Heather Hatton and son Vincent of Fulshear, Texas; Peter Hatton and wife Miriam Torres Hatton and daughter Ellanor of Cypress, Texas; Justin Hatton and wife Savannah Stuckey Hatton of Conroe, Texas and Ellanna Hatton Hastings and husband Patrick Hastings of San Antonio, Texas.

Frances aspired to be a model, and as designer Coco Chanel said, "Elegance is when the inside is as beautiful as the outside" and chose early on to become the wife of Norris Hatton her first love and raise a family. Frances Hughes and Norris Hatton were married on June 27, 1952 in Hardin, Texas with E. G. Morgan officiating, after meeting at a Halloween Party the prior year. She and Norris raised their three sons on Linden Creek in Houston in the house built by her father and her brother. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Miemaw) and great grandmother (Gigi). Frances came to know our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 12. She was committed many years working with preschool aged children at Park Place Baptist Church in Houston, alongside many faithful women who were her closest friends. She also enjoyed singing in the choir at the church.

Frances was an avid reader. She liked books by John Grisham, Tom Clancy, Mary Higgins Clark and many others. Her favorite book was the biography of Helen Steiner Rice called "Ambassador of Sunshine." She loved traveling with Norris driving, since he wouldn't fly, to places all over the United States and with her sister Jeanine by air, without Norris, all over the world. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, music, painting, collecting figures of turtles and frogs, US state spoons and magnets and collectible famous celebrity magazines and books by Time, Life and National Geographic.

Frances loved her family, and she made a point to travel with many of her grandchildren and visited Perry's family almost monthly after they moved to Plano. The Hatton family is very close and cherished times together during holidays, special birthdays, taking vacations together, celebrations, concerts and other performing arts where family were participants. Frances enjoyed blessing her family. Anytime there was an event or gathering related to any family member, she was there. Frances thrived being able to create an atmosphere of celebration with the details chosen specifically for them.

Frances loved her gardening and inspired her sons to also love working with God's creation. She loved color and expressed it through fine taste in her clothing selections and her paintings.

Frances loved Jesus Christ and His Church and extended that same incredible love and devotion to her family and friends. Her life encouraged others to know and experience God's love for them.

The family would like to be able to have each and every one to be able to come into the chapel area for the service but because of the pandemic restrictions, it is just not possible. Therefore when the funeral home staff determines that the room is full, they will close the doors to the inside service in the chapel. The posted number is 50 but they will not be doing head counts.
