Fernando Cavazos Jr.
Fernando 83, of Spring, TX, passed away on November 2, 2020. He was born in Alamo, TX on January 26, 1937 to Fernando Cavazos Sr. and Cristina G. Cavazos. Fernando Cavazos attended PSJA High School in Pharr, TX and proceeded to enlist in the US Navy in 1955. After serving his time in the Navy, he would later meet Cristela Ybarra. The couple would eventually marry on August 5, 1966 and remain married until his death 54 years later. Fernando Cavazos attended Pan American University (UT Pan American) in Edinburg, TX and graduated in 1970. His field of study had him employed in the oil and gas field with Gulf Oil, Texas Gulf, and Amoco Production Company (BP). After his retirement in 1997, he continued to do contract work for Coastal and Aker Solutions until he would finally retire in 2008. Throughout his life, both with the Navy and his career, his work would take him all over the world. During his time in the Navy, he was stationed at Sasebo, Japan. While employed he worked in Pakistan, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Singapore, Brazil, and Santo Domingo. Fernando traveled frequently with his wife and would visit England, France, The Netherlands, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Colombia together. Travel in the United States included Hawaii, California, Florida, Louisiana, Illinois and his favorite Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a man who loved to relax while gambling and playing bingo in his later years of life.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Cristina G. Cavazos; his father, Fernando Cavazos Sr.; his brothers Humberto Cavazos and Homero Cavazos; his brother-in-law Arturo Breaux; niece Leticia Cavazos.
