Felipe "Phillip" Reyna was born on March 14, 1960, in Gary, Indiana to Rosendo & Maria Luz Reyna. In the early 80's, the family moved down south to Houston, Texas to start a new life. On August 17, 1990, he married Wendy, his favorite banker inside Woodforest National Bank and they started their lives together. Their family blossomed overnight as their marriage brought their four children (Lisa, Phillip , Melissa & Ericka) into one home. This family continued to grow and on August 27, 1991, the one and only Jenny was born. Six years to the day later, they welcomed their baby boy Elijah into this world.

Phillip loved his children more than life itself. His children became his identity. He was the happiest when surrounded by them, especially when they were all in the same place at the same time. He loved making them breakfast, throwing together anything he had in the fridge to feed all six of them. He worked hard to provide for his family, and he taught them all how to love and support one another without fail. It did not matter what they may come against, he was passionate about making sure that they would always show up for each other. As life evolved, he became a grandfather to nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. In recent years, it brought him so much joy to share his wisdom with his grandchildren in their secret (no parents allowed) group text titled simply "Phillips Grandkids" and he got a kick out of their conversations. Every Sunday without fail, Phillip and Wendy would go for a ride to "see the cows" as he would say, and they would dream together while driving through the country and they would enjoy a delicious meal. Phillip had two dogs (Buddy & Rex) that recently came into his life, and they brought him joy. He loved walking the dogs and hanging out with them while he researched and learned new things on TikTok or YouTube.

He enjoyed working on cars and would tackle anything that needed to be repaired himself. Phillip had a daily routine of calling his children and grandchildren and if they did not answer he would show up inside their houses to say "what, are you too good to answer me?"  We will miss his persistent parenting. He was always in pursuit of us, our biggest cheerleader, confidant, and friend. In our moments of anger, joy, sadness, or anything in between– he was our first call and would be the first one to make us feel seen and heard. Our dad was a simple man who understood family, and nothing came between him, Wendy and us. We love you Dad!
