Faye Lorraine Vaughn, 91, of Baton Rouge, La., passed away February 23, 2017. She was born July 21, 1925 in Baton Rouge, La., where she lived until 2011, at which time she moved to Pearland, Texas and lived for six years. Faye was a graduate of LSU and retired from teaching elementary school after more than twenty years of service in East Baton Rouge Parish. She loved the great outdoors, especially her azalea and flower gardens, bird watching and feeding the wild turkeys in her backyard.
Faye also loved her LSU Tigers football and baseball teams. After moving to the Houston area, she adopted the Houston Astros and loved her day trips to the Houston Zoo, where she was able to pet the rhinos and watch the silverback gorilla.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Jack Vaughn, Sr.; youngest son, James Alan Vaughn of Livingston, La.; a great granddaughter, Brianna Faith Vaughn of Denton, Tx.; her parents, Henry Watt and Johnie Tucker of Baton Rouge, La. ; and sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Selser Pickett of Baton Rouge, La.
Faye is survived by: George Jack Vaughn, II and Michelle of Pearland, Tx.; Henry L. (Buzz) and Carolyn Vaughn of denton, Tx.; Paul B. and Sue Vaughn of Tomball, Tx.; daughter-in-law, Patricia Vaughn of Livingston, La.; and Lonnie L. Vaughn of Walker, La.
Grandchildren: Tammye Crosskno of Spring, Tx., Beau and Brandi Vaughn of Deer Park, Tx., Jason and Delisa Vaughn of Deer Park, Tx., Erin and Callum Graves of Spring, Tx., Philip and Sue Vaughn of Kirkland, Wash., Buddy and Amanda Vaughn of Denton, Tx., Julie and Bradford Felder of Lafayette, La., Eric Vaughn of Denton, Tx., Justin Vaughn of Denton, Tx., Katie and Chris Happ of Denton, Tx.; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
