Obituary

Faye L. Brinkman, 91, of Magnolia, passed away February 13, 2018.  She was born January 16, 1927, in Madill, Oklahoma to the late James Joshua Dodd and Mary Alice Hendricks Dodd.

Faye was beautiful both inside and out.  She was a devoted, selfless woman, always putting the needs of her family and others first.  Being the mom to five children was not easy, but she excelled at it.  Even though she had a very tight budget, everyone was treated to delicious homemade meals and no visitor was ever turned away hungry. She was famous for her yeast rolls, fried apple pies, banana bread, and cactus apple jelly. She spent many hours at her sewing machine making beautiful clothes for her husband and children. She could literally make something out of nothing.

Although her main occupation was homemaker, she worked outside of the home on many occasions, as the Office Manager at B & S Fabricators, at a sewing factory in Comanche, Texas, and always as a much sought-after seamstress.

Known to all as Granny Faye, she was a much loved, amazing grandmother.  She made her grandchildren clothes, cooked their favorite dish at every family get-together, took them to the creek fishing, hunting for arrowheads and rocks, carried them on her hip until they were long past the age to carry, and so much more.

She will always be remembered for her loving nature, her big heart, her beautiful silver hair, her pretty clothes and shoes, and her red lipstick.  We love you Granny Faye and will miss you always.

She is survived by her children, Don Brinkman, Rod and Cindy Brinkman, Terry and Stephanna Brinkman, Roger and Cindy Brinkman, and Rhonda and Billy Crumpton; Grandchildren:  Rachel, Amy, Amanda, Casey, Eric, Allen, PR, Leslie, John, Lacy, Matthew, Rachel, Tiffany, and Jeanna; Eighteen Great-Grandchildren; brother, James Dodd, and many other loving relatives.

Faye was a Christian and member of First Baptist Church of Magnolia.  She was welcomed to heaven by her loved ones who proceeded her including her parents, James and Alice Dodd, husband, John Brinkman; brothers, Joe Dodd and Ray Dodd; sisters, Stella Browning and Claudy Conatser.

The family will receive visitors Monday, February 19th, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home – Magnolia.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 19th at 2:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home Magnolia.  Interment to follow in Klein Memorial Park - Magnolia.
