Faye passed from this life into eternal life Thursday, December 20, 2018.
Faye was born in rural south Georgia on March 14, 1934 to Homer and Edna
Brown. She moved from the farm into Brunswick during the beginning of
World War II. Her father worked in the shipyards building Liberty ships for
the war effort. She attended Glynn Academy and graduated in 1952. In 1953
she was introduced to Petty Officer Third class Edgar Struwe of Caldwell,
Texas. He was stationed at the airship station Glynco in Brunswick. After a
whirlwind courtship, they were married March 6, 1954. Their daughter
Cynthia Jane was born in January 1955. Several months later the family,
upon completion of Edgar's service in the Navy, moved to Texas. Faye and
Edgar made their home in his hometown of Caldwell. In 1957 the Struwe
family moved to Houston when Edgar was employed by Cameron Iron Works.
This was Faye's home for 20 years. She was a tireless homemaker, wife, and
mother. In 1977 they again moved. This time it was only Edgar and Faye and
they moved to Brenham Texas where they remained until Edgars death. In 1983
Faye moved back to Georgia. Faye met and married Julian Armstrong in 1997.
They moved to the mountains in North Georgia where they remained until
Julian passed in April 2001. At this time Faye moved back to Houston to be
near her daughter, son-in-law, and only grandson. She remained in Houston
as a loving mother and grandmother until her death.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Homer and Edna Brown, her
sister Martha, and a brother John. Her first husband Edgar Benjamin Struwe
died in October 1982 and her second husband Julian Armstrong died in April 2001.
S
he is survived by her only child, Cynthia Struwe White, son-in-law
