Obituary

Fay McClay, born January 3, 1937, passed away March 7, 2021. She had a lifelong love of nursing and was a dedicated professor, making an extraordinary impact on her students throughout the years. Her continued pursuit of education earned her Bachelors Degree from Temple University, her Masters in Nursing from University of Texas, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A & M. She educated future nurses at Texas Women's University, North Harris County Community College, and Houston Community College. She was awarded several accolades throughout her career, including being featured in Who's Who in American Nursing and the American Journal of Nursing. Fay was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and friends, had a true love for all animals (especially her cats), and a spirit like no other.

Fay is preceded in death by her husband, James W. McClay and daughter, Laurie McClay.

She is survived by daughter Kelle Adams and son in law Heath; her son Michael McClay and daughter in law Meredith; and her son Patrick McClay. She also is survived by her grandchildren: Patrick McClay, Jr., Robert Rogers, Aaron Coots, Savannah McClay, and Lily McClay.

A graveside celebration of life will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Klein Memorial Park Cemetery: 32529 TX-249, Pinehurst, TX 77362.
