Our beloved husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, and pastor, Fahed Karmout, who was a General in the Army of
The Lord, went to be with his King Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.
Pastor Karmout started ministering as a missionary to the Arabic peninsula in the early 1950s for s everal years before he met the love of his life to whom he was married for almost 58 years. He then started seminary, graduating from the Beirut Baptist Seminary in 1963. From there, he moved to Jerusalem where he pastored the Jerusalem Baptist Church for two years. Then he was sent to the northern parts of Jordan where he planted and pastored several churches before transferring back to Jerusalem in 1969. He pastored the church there as well as in Ramallah and Bethlehem at the same time until 1979. God used him to usher revival in the region in the early 1970s. He then moved to Tennessee where he pastored a church in Murfreesboro before the late Pastor John Osteen compelled him to come to Houston to start a church. He was the founder of the Arabic Evangelical Church in 1980 where he pastored until his homecoming with The Lord.
He has touched the nations and will deeply be missed by his family, congregation, and friends everywhere.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, August 7, at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, TX 77065. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Arabic Evangelical Church which meets at Memorial Drive Baptist Church, 325 Piney Point Road, Houston, TX 77024. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery, Houston.
