Evelyn Rosalie Ermis Foster
8/21/1922-11/14/2025
Evelyn Foster passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 103. Born August 21, 1922, on a farm in Lavaca County to Frank and Adella Miculka Ermis, Evelyn was the youngest of eleven children. Although she grew up during the Great Depression, her childhood experiences were among her fondest memories and the source of the most wonderful stories. After WW2, Evelyn met her loving husband Talmadge Foster, and married in 1947. Together they raised three daughters, Jan Freeman (David), Tommie Foster and Jo Matern (Will). She was the proud grandmother of John Freeman (Bethany) and Dave Freeman. She cherished her great grandchildren Abigail Rodriguez (Nolan), Jack Freeman and Meredith Freeman and held dear numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She had special affection for Brian Freeman (Christen), Emma Freeman, Justin Freeman (Lauren) and John Livingston (Nicole) who brought added happiness to her life.
Evelyn lived a full life and was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She loved to cook, hosted memorable family gatherings, kept an immaculate home and passed down treasured cultural traditions. She had a lifelong fondness for animals, nature, gardening and kept her youthful spirit until her very last days. She always saw beauty in the world and in those around her. Evelyn was loved by her family and friends for her kindness and generosity
Most of all she loved her family and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
The family wishes to express our deep and sincere gratitude to Dr. John Issac, Dr. Ghayyath Sultan, the doctors and nurses at Methodist Hospital and Vital Caring for their excellent care, kindness, support and guidance.
