Eugene was born in Luling, TX on February 21,1948.  He graduated high school in Luling and went on to graduate Texas A & M Class of 1970.

Eugene had a long and successful career in the oil industry retiring from Range Resources as Drilling /Production Engineer.

Eugene is preceded in death by his parents Bert and Sarah Lightsey and his brother Kenneth Lightsey.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara. His sons Daryl wife Sonia and Jeffrey wife Alicia. Grandchildren Andrew, Karson and Landon. Great-grandchildren Krew and Alyvia Coppa.
His brother Don Lightsey wife Judy and several nieces and nephews.
