Ervin Thomas Dornak
(November 23,1934 - January 11, 2020)
Ervin Thomas Dornak, a loving husband, father, grandfather and multiple other
attributes, entered the Lord's embrace on Saturday, January 11, 2020. He was 85
years old at the time of his passing. A loyal servant of the Lord, Jesus Christ, Ervin is
survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lucille Clara Meier Dornak, his two children,
Alan (wife Kristi) Dornak and Donna (husband Toby) Dornak Smith and grandchildren,
Allan Peet III, Kierstin Dornak and Jordan (husband Cameron) Wise, along with
great-grandson Beckham Wise and multiple nieces and nephews.
Ervin was born to Charles and Cecilia Janak Dornak on November 23, 1934. Raised in
Hallettsville, Texas, on the family farm, he would grow up and become a proud
member of the United States Air Force. He would soon meet his true love, Lucille and
the two would be married in the eyes of the Lord on June 22, 1963.
Ervin began his career of 35 years with Baker Hughes sweeping shop floors and
worked his way up to Plant Manager prior to retiring in 1995. Active in church, he was
also a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus of Christ the Redeemer
Assembly #3310.
Ervin was the definition of a straight shooter. What you saw was what you got from the
loving grandfather of three. Always warm and welcoming to those from the outside, a
handshake meant that you would have a friend for life, smiling as he greeted you into
his friendly demeanor. Walking a straight line in the path of the lord, one could find
Ervin at his best fishing, hunting or gardening outdoors.
Ervin will join his father, Charles, mother, Cecilia, brother, Leo and sister, Helen, in the
eternal afterlife in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 14, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Klein
Cemetery funeral home in Magnolia, Texas. A rosary vigil will take place following the
wake at 7:00 p.m. and all those are welcomed to join. A funeral service, including
mass, will take place on Wednesday, January 15, at Christ the Redeemer Catholic
Church at 10:30 a.m. immediately followed by a reception at the church. The day will
conclude with the burial commencing at Klein Cemetery following the reception.
