Ernestine Julia Gothard Dyal

Ernestine (MeMaw) Julia Gothard Dyal, born August 29, 1926 (age 91 years, 11 months) went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 6, 2018 at home in Hockley surrounded by her family and in peace.

Ernestine was born in The Heights in Houston Texas to Tom and Bessie Gothard. She attended Reagan High School where she met her husband, James D Dyal, Sr. They married October 19, 1944 and shared 66 loving years of marriage. Ernestine was a life long member of Heights Christian Church and also a member of the DRT. Her biggest accomplishment was her family and all of the love they shared.

Ernestine is survived by three children, James D Dyal, Jr & wife Mary, Diane Flowers & husband Don, Edie Spenrath & husband Jerome.

MeMaw is also survived by her grandchildren: Karen Dyal, James Dyal, III & wife Lauren, Melissa Williams & husband Wade, David Flowers, Cynthia Spenrath & wife Terrie Bailey, Gretchen De La Paz & husband Charlie, Angela Williamson & husband Michael, Amy Harold & husband Brian, Jason Spenrath & wife Amber Flores. Great-grandchildren: Tommy, Lacey, Stephan, & Rebekah Dyal, Garrett & Morgan Ruysenaars, Dava Flowers, Kristen Spenrath & husband Adrian Herrera , Bethany Johnson, Paige Spenrath, Taylor & Lorin Williamson, Jalen Brown, Aubrey Harold, Piper, Tanner, & Ayson Spenrath. Great-great-grandchildren: Annelyse & Sebastian Herrera. Brother-in-law: Ray Dyal.  Nieces and Nephews: George Holewyne & wife Fran, Lisa Holewyne & wife Christy, David Holewyne & wife Cindy, Tanja Lyons & husband Mike. Great nieces and nephews: Meagan & Carrie Holewyne, David James & Leah Holewyne, Shelby, Christopher, & Morgan Lyons.

Ernestine was preceded in death by her loving husband James D Dyal, Sr, parents, Tom & Bessie Gothard, and cousin Joan Holewyne.

Services to celebrate MeMaw's life will be at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10am with a graveside service at Forest Park Lawndale at 2pm. Officiant will be Leah Goyer. Pallbearers: David Flowers, James Dyal, III, Jason Spenrath, Charlie De La Paz, Wade Williams, Michael Williamson, & Brian Harold. Honorary pallbearers: Tommy Dyal, Stephan Dyal, Garrett Ruysenaars, Jalen Brown, Aubrey Harold, Tanner Spenrath.
