Ernest Gilbert Hill passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 14, 2021 and went home to be with his Lord at the age of 86 years. He was born in Nashville, TN on February 10, 1935 to Richard Benjamin Hill and Lou Ella Pierce who preceded him in death along with his brothers Henry Clay, Robert Lee, Douglas Ray and sisters Mary Linda Cofield, Lawanda June Harris, and Bennie Lou Winn. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Ann Hill of 48 years. Lovingly remembered by his children Ernest Gilbert Jr., Linda Ann Birkholz, Steven Dean, Michael Bryan, James Allen Johnson and wife Michelle, and Karen Diane Mendez and husband Douglas, and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Additionally, by his brothers John Pierce, Thomas Earl and sisters Laura Geneva Shaw and Emma Lois Zeck and many nieces and nephews.
Ernest was a proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force and then went on to have a fulfilling career as a communications technician with the Federal Aviation Administration at George Bush Intercontinental Airport where he retired in 1990. He enjoyed learning all he could about computers and creating PowerPoint slideshows of fond family memories. Genealogy was his true passion and he lovingly gathered decades of family history to pass down to future generations. Some of his hobbies included gardening, household projects and watching football. He was loved and will be greatly missed by many.  The family will receive friends Sunday February 28 from 5-8 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, Magnolia.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday March 1, 2021 in the chapel of Klein Funeral Home, Magnolia.
