Obituary

Ernest S Delaune, beloved husband and father, departed this life on 9/26/2022 at 7:11am.  Ernest the first born son of Ernest Delaune Jr and Mae Delaune was born on Mardi Gras day 2/6/1940 in New Orleans, LA.

He spent his formative years in New Orleans and Ponchatoula, LA, and attended Ponchatoula High school with honors, which transitioned into service in the Louisiana National Guard.

Ernest graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University, Where he studied accounting followed by auditing work for the General Accounting Office. It was during this time he met Emily Mullen, the love of his life, whom he married in November 1964. In July 1965 son Ernest IV was born.

From 1967-1971 he was business manager of the Tulane University Delta Primate Center. In January 1968 son Stephen was born.

An accounting position at Ingram - Micoperi facilitated international travel to Milan, Italy for Ernest and family. He really enjoyed Europe and the European lifestyle, and was hired as a Financial Administrator at Brown and Root in Scotland and England from 1974-1981.

Moved to Spring, TX in 1981. From 1986-2006 was Associate Dean for Management at UT Health Houston School of Dentistry.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends of which there are hundreds. He loved to travel and see new people and places. He also enjoyed holidays, cooking, and eating and attending church.

He valiantly fought the battle of advanced prostate cancer for the past 18 months. He is now lightened of that load and resting in the arms of the Heavenly Father.

He is survived by his loving wife and sons - Emily, Ernest IV, and Stephen. Grandchild: Louis Delaune. Brothers and sisters: Johnny, Barbara, Mary, Cathy, George, and Yvonne.

On Friday, October 14, 2022, at 11 am, a mass celebrating the memory of Ernest S Delaune III will be held at St Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church. The address is 7810 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX  77379.

Following the mass there will be a reception. The reception location will be shared at the mass.
