Beckie Marley passed away quietly on Monday morning, July 3rd, with her family at her side.  She was preceded in death by her parents (Francis Lee Getz and Mary Ellen Getz), her husband Colonel Paul Charles Marley, and her brothers Lee, Richard and Pete.  She is survived by her four children (Maribeth Peller, Paul C. Marley II, Tom Marley, and Kathie Johnson) nine grandchildren (Charles Webster, John Webster, Becky Johnson, Cynthia Peller Hum, John Peller, Captain Timothy Johnson, Katrina Peller, Kyle Johnson and Kate Marley), three great-grandchildren (JR Webster, James Webster, and Callie Johnson), seven siblings (BettyLou, Phyllis, Loveda, Charlotte, Carol Sue, Tom and Jim), her dear friend Don Schlotterbeck, and over thirty nieces and nephews.

Beckie was born on a farm in Maryland and joined the US Air Force after graduation from high school.  She married Paul, an Air Force officer and, both during and after his time on active duty, she traveled with him to various places in Asia, North America, and Europe.  She enjoyed fine food, fine art, and fine music, but especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and close friends Ingrid and Madelene.  Her husband passed away in 1991, while they were living in Springfield, Virginia. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.  In 2008 she moved to a wonderful retirement community at the Village at Gleannloch Farms in Spring, Texas.  She made many new friends at "The Village" and participated in the many social activities available there.

A memorial service will be held at the Village at Gleannloch Farms chapel on Thursday July 6 at 2:00 pm, Reverend David Schultz presiding. She will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery on a date still to be determined.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in her name to either:
