Erik Daniel Carlson, a beloved son, father, and grandson, passed away on January 25, 2025.

Born on August 14, 1995, in Houston, Texas, Erik embodied the true spirit of his hometown. He fervently cheered for the Houston Astros and embraced the vibrant culture of his city.

Erik possessed an artistic talent that was not known by many. Through his remarkable drawings, he communicated emotions and thoughts that words often failed to express.

Growing up, Erik had an infectious sense of humor that could light up any room. He was adventurous, caring, and a free-spirited soul. Erik had a big heart and loved his family, friends, and animals.

He spent countless hours fishing with his mother, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

His grandmother, whom he lovingly called Momba, was another source of his happiness. Their bond was filled with laughter, stories, and love.

From the moment Erik held his daughter Madelynn in his arms, his heart expanded in ways he never thought possible. Madelynn became his reason to wake up each morning with a smile.

Erik was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lance Carlson.

Erik is survived by his mother, Kimberley Carlson Lewis; stepfather, David Lewis; grandmother, Harlee Carlson; daughter, Madelynn Gratehouse; and Madelynn's mother, Lindsey Gratehouse.

While Erik's physical presence may no longer be with us, his memory will live on forever in our hearts. He will be deeply missed by friends and family. In this time of sorrow, they find solace in the beautiful moments shared and the love that will never fade.
