Emily Clair Parker
July 17, 1980 – November 21, 2019
On November 21, 2019, Emily Clair Parker, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin and friend to everyone she met, joined her grandparents in heaven to walk by the side of Jesus.
Emily was born in Houston, TX, with multiple health challenges that she valiantly overcame over, and over, and over for 39 incredible years. She was so very blessed to be cared for by an excellent and caring team of doctors at Texas Children's Pediatric Cardiology, the Texas Heart Institute, Baylor College of Medicine Transition Clinic, Baylor St. Luke's Heart Failure Clinic and Dr. Warren Eardley, her loving pediatrician for over two decades.
Emily was a Cypress Creek High School graduate, class of 2000 (and 2002!) and a proud six year member of the Cougar Marching Band, beating her drum and watching band videos years later. It's hard to imagine any other alumna loving the Cougar Fight Song as much as she did!
Since high school, Emily has attended the Reach Unlimited Learning Activity Center with her friends, growing, earning and learning to make beautiful fused glass pieces and participating in an array of activities, social outings and events. Her favorite job ever was using the intercom each afternoon to call her friends names for their rides home.
Emily was an avid Elmo, Astros and football fan and was very adept as using her iPad to watch all three. She was a member of Cypress United Methodist Church, her church home always, and loved singing "church songs" in worship, in the car and at home as well as attending the LOL activities with her friends.
To cherish her memory forever, Emily is survived by her loving parents, George and Gale Parker, her sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Shawn Beck, her niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Carter Beck, her aunt and uncle, Gerry and Bob Brock, her cousins, Bobby and Bradley Brock, her BFF, Lauren Black and friends everywhere.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated instead to continue the great work of Reach Unlimited where Emily loved spending her days.
