Eloise F. Howard, age 85, went to be with the Lord July 20, 2016 ending her battle with cancer.  Eloise is survived by her son Alan Howard and wife Karen; daughter Allyson Phillips and husband Bob; son Andrew Howard and Glenda.  She was also blessed with 7 grandsons, Brad, Ross, Douglas, Austin, Carter, Zachary and Glenn. Eloise is survived by sisters Rose Proper and Carroll (Jack) Haydon.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Douglas and siblings, Dort, Dick and Chuck.

Eloise was born on August 16, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa to Romy and Hazel Proper.  Eloise moved to Denver where she met, Douglas, the love of her life, in December 1956 and six weeks later, they were married.

They moved to Houston where Doug started his career in oil and gas.  Eloise supported Doug in every way by working at their company and being an excellent mother and homemaker.

Eloise was a devoted wife and mother.  She loved attending all her children's and grandchildren's sporting events.  She also enjoyed watching college football, playing bridge, games of any kind, Mexican food on Saturday night, traveling with Douglas and the family gatherings where she would play in tournaments of ping pong and washers up to the end of her life.

Eloise had many friends and a different bridge group almost every day of the week.  In October of 2015 she moved to The Village at Gleannloch where she loved living with many of her friends. Eloise will be missed by all that knew her and as the matriarch of the family.
