Ellen Ann Pettey went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2024.  She was 76 years old.

Ann was born on July 11, 1947, to Ray Lusk and Mary Beaman Pollock in Dallas, TX.  After graduating from Kimball High School in 1965, she went on to TCU where she majored in Sociology and minored in Psychology.

After graduating from TCU in 3 ½ years, she traveled the world as a Flight Attendant for Braniff Airlines.

At a New Year's Eve party in 1967, Ann caught the eye of Mike Pettey in Dallas.  In 1970, Ann and Mike were married in Dallas and went on to have three children – Reagan, Parrish and Cherrish.

Ann was predeceased by her parents Ray and Mary Pollock and her grandson Thatcher Ray Helmig.  Ann is survived by her husband of 53 years Mike Pettey, children Reagan (Amye) Pettey, Parrish (Amanda) Pettey and Cherrish (Thad) Helmig, and grandchildren Emerson Pettey, Lily Pettey, Georgia Pettey, Holden Helmig, Hartley Helmig and Hawkins Helmig, and her sister Becky Anderson.

Ann spent her entire life loving the Lord and serving others.  Ann and Mike moved from Dallas to Spring in 1976, where they quickly joined Klein United Methodist Church and remained faithful members.  Ann was passionate about studying God's word and had a heart for children.  Ann loved her Seekers Sunday School class.  She spent many years teaching Sunday School, volunteering at VBS and serving as a Stephen Minister

Even away from church, she spent many years volunteering in other ministries and charities, such as Keep Pace, NCL and Junior Forum.  In particular, she loved Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) where she attended for more than 40 years, and served more than 20 years as a Children's Leader.  In 2005, she received a Lifetime Service award from the Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum.

She was an extrovert who loved spending time with friends planning parties, hosting showers or just talking over lunch or on the phone.  However, she was happiest as a mother and grandmother.  She loved each of her three children and doted on her grandchildren who knew her as "Sassy", a perfect moniker for the grandma who hosted the best tea parties and always served her signature frozen lemonade.

Ann leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends that she dearly loved.
