Ellen Gayle was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 22, 1938, and passed away in Houston, Texas on November 19, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she cherished her family above all else. She is remembered for her love of reading, her warm and generous heart, and a quick wit that brought light and laughter to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Gayle, her sister Linda Blair, and her parents, Joseph and Loretta Mazer.

Ellen is survived by her children, Joseph Gayle, and Laurie Humble and husband Joseph Fritts; grandchildren, Robert Humble and wife Samantha, Jamie Humble, and Benjamin Humble; and great-grandchildren, Maxwell Humble and Eleanor Humble.

Although no public service will be held, we invite those who wish to honor her to consider a donation to the Parkinson's Foundation in her name.
